Description:
An acute, subacute, or chronic infection by Cryptococcus neoformans, chiefly affecting the central nervous system, causing a pulmonary, disseminated, or meningeal mycosis.

First described by Busse in Zentralblatt für Bakteriologie, 1894, 16: 175-180.
