Biography of Rudolph Chrobak

Rudolph Chrobak, the son of a highly esteemed physician, attended the medical faculty at the University of Vienna, receiving his doctorate in 1866. He served as intern at the Wiener allgemeines Krankenhaus, and at the clinic of Johann von Oppolzer (1808-1871) independently trained in gynaecology, for which he was habilitated in 1871. He was appointed extraordinary professor in 1880, and in 1889 succeeded August Breisky (1832-1889) as ordinarius of this discipline. He retired in 1908 and died in 1910.
