Biography of Joseph Louis Irénée Jean Abadie

Abadie began his studies at the University of Bordeaux and became interne in 1897. He was conferred doctor of medicine in 1900 and in 1901 became Chef de clinique médicale. In 1903 he became physician to the Bordeaux' hospitals, in 1905 agrégé of general medicine, and in 1913 of psychiatry. In 1918 he was appointed professor of neurology and psychiatry at the Bordeaux faculty.

Abadie's work concern the localisation of diseases of the brain, of tabes dorsalis, of abnormous childhood, alcoholism, toxic mental disturbances, encephalitis epidemica etc.
