Biography of Rudolf Erhard Riecke
Rudolf Erhard Riecke studied at Munich and Halle, where he obtained his doctorate in 1895. He went to the skin clinic in Leipzig as an assistant and was habilitated for dermatology in 1902. In 1908 he was appointed ausserordentlicher Professor, in 1917 director of the new policlinic for skin and venereal diseases in Göttingen. In 1920 he became persönlicher Ordinarius, and in 1927 planmässiger ordinarius. He was the first to hold this chair at the Georg-August-Universität in Göttingen. He remained in this position until he was emerited on March 31, 1935.
Riecke was the publisher of Lehrbuch der Haut- und Geschlechtskrankheiten. He is rmembered for the Moulagen-Sammlung at skin clinic in the University of Göttingen.
