Biography:
Pablo Luis Mirizzi attended the university of his native city and received his doctorate in 1916. He subsequently studied clinical surgery at some of the best surgical centres in the United States, such as the Mayo Clinic. Since that time, he visited either once or several times a year the leading surgical departments in the world.
He was a lecturer 1920-1922, supplemental professor 1922-1926, and from 1926 professor of clinical surgery at his alma mater. Mirizzi concerned himself with the surgery of the abdomen, thorax and the nervous system. He was a prolific writer.
