Roar Strøm

Norwegian physician, born March 31, 1903, Oslo (then Kristiania); died October 8, 1958.

Strøm-Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
A clinical triad of 1) hypesecretion of gastrin, 2) multiple, atypically located, often recurrent peptic ulcers, and 3) a noninsulin producing islet cell tumor of the pancreas.





Biography:
Roar Strømgraduated in medicine from the University of Oslo in December, 1926, and was conferred doctor of medicine in 1943. He worked in several hospitals in southern Norway, including Rikshospitalet – the national research hospital in Oslo. In 1956, two years before his death, he became head physician at the Telemark county hospital, Skien.
