Austrian physician, born December 29, 1909, St. Michael bei Eppan; died February 2, 1996, Klosterneuburg.

Spanlang-Tappeiner syndrome
A syndrome of congenital zonular corneal opacity with hyperkeratosis of palms and soles, and alopecia.

Biography:
Josef Tappeiner was head of the 1st university clinic for skin and venereal diseases at Vienna from 1959 to 1980, from 1961 also professor at the University of Vienna. His bibliography lists more than 200 scientific publications.
