A cordon shaped structure of Schwann cells and elements of the perineurium – the sheath of connective tissue enclosing individual bundles of nerve fibres (fascicles). They serve as pathways for the axons growing out of the proximal end of Schwann's sheath (the neurilemma of a nerve fibre).
