Biography of Emanuel Aufrecht

Emanuel Aufrecht was educated in Berlin under the supervision of Friedrich Theodor von Frerichs (1819-1855), Ludwig Traube (1818-1876) and Rudolf Virchow (1821-1902). He was graduated M.D. in 1866. He was a general practitioner in Magdeburg from 1868, and in 1879 became physician-in-chief of the department of internal medicine at the city hospital, with the title of privy counsellor of health (Geheimer Sanitätsrat).
