Biography of Atlas Atlas

Atlas in Greek mythology was a Greek, son of the Titan Iapetus and the nymph Clymene (or Asia) and brother of Prometheus (creator of mankind). According to the Greek poet Hesiod, Atlas and one of the Titans who took part in their war against Zeus. For this the Olympic deities punished him, making him hold the the skies aloft.
