Biography of Maurizio Mosé Ascoli

Maurizio Ascoli studied in Torino. He was conferred M.D. in 1899 and from 1900 to 1910 was assistant of medical pathology at Deveto in Pavia, where he was habilitated for this discipline in 1904. He became professor of medical pathology in Catania in 1910, in 1927 professor of clinical medicine and in 1929 took over the medical clinic in Palermo. His work concerns chiefly isolysins and precipitins, the explorative cranial punction, alimentary albuminuria, simultaneous bilateral pneumothorax, contralateral pneumothorax, radiotherapy, pharmacodynamics etc.
