Biography of Lawson Wilkins
Lawson Wilkins obtained his medical degree whilst serving with the Johns Hopkins unit in France. After the war he worked in the Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he established a paediatric endocrine unit and became professor of paediatrics

- The Diagnosis and Treatment of Endocrine Disorders in Childhood and Adolescence. 1950. With this book, Lawson Wilkins became the first recognized paediatric endocrinologist in the world. The book became the classic reference for anyone interested in problems of growth and development in children. The Acknowledgement of the First Edition notes the collaboration of three Associates - Drs. Walter Fleischman, Roger Lewis and Robert Klein, and two Fellows from Argentina - Drs. Salvador de Majo and Eugenia Rosenberg. These were the first trainees of Lawson Wilkins.
