Gerhardt's syndrome

Description:
Bilateral adductor paralysis of the larynx. Normally, paralysis of the adductor muscles of the larynx results only in impairment of phonation; however, in complete bilateral paralysis there may at times be marked inspiratory dyspnea that may even lead to suffocation.
