Painful inflammation of the bursae located between the os calcis and the Achilles tendon with difficulty in walking.
Schanz's syndrome 1 is a traumatic inflammation of the Achilles tendon. It is entered as Schanz’ disease, under Alfred Schanz, German orthopedist, 1868-1931.
