A rare form of neurofibriomatosis recently categeorised as a separate entity. It is a tumour disease developing from the nerve sheaths, consisting of of multiple cutaneous schwannomas, central nervous system tumours, and other neurological complications. The condition is genetic and was originally described in Japanese patients. It affects around  1 in 40,000 individuals.
