Apley's scratch test

Description:
1. Abduction and external rotation test for testing limited range of motion or asymmetry of movements when comparing the affected and unaffected shoulders. Reach over shoulders to "scratch" between scapulae. Measure to which vertebrae thumb can reach. Any difference in the inability to touch the opposite shoulder shall be considered a positive finding.
2 Adduction and internal rotation test. A test combining internal rotation with adduction on one arm and external rotation with abduction on the other arm. Reach behind back as if to scratch low back and measure to which vertebrae thumb can reach.
