An allergic or anaphylactic purpura occurring in individuals, especially children, with drug sensitivities, serum sickness, and other allergic disorders. It is characterized by the appearance on the skin of small purple spots, by pain in the abdomen, swelling, pain, and tenderness of joints; and frequently by swelling of the hands, feet, or eyelids.
