Description:
Encapsulated tactile corpuscles (sensory nerve endings) in the skin of the finger tips. Like Vater-Pacini lamellary corpuscles they are movement and vibration detectors, but smaller than Vater-Pacini. They were earlier thought to be thermoreceptors. Golgi 1878 and 1880.
