Rosenthal's syndrome I

Description:
Paralysis occurring at the moment of falling asleep or awakening. The patient is fully conscious and hears what is said, but is unable to move, even though he may be able to move his eyes and speak. The duration of paralysis attacks varies from a few seconds to several minutes, usually 1 to 2 minutes. May be interrupted by a sudden movement or by somebody touching the patient. Anxiety and fear of death are usually associated. Bibliography:
