Biography of Heinrich Lissauer

Heinrich Lissauer was the son of the physician and anthropologist Abraham Lissauer (1832-1908). He attended the universities Heidelberg, Berlin, and Leipzig. He obtained his doctorate in 1886 in Leipzig and soon afterwards became an assistant at the university psychiatric clinic in Breslau (Wroclaw). For a period he was an assistant to Carl Wernicke (1848-1905).

He died while on a convalescence trip to Hallstatt in Austria. His works concern the pharmacology and in particular the anatomy and pathology of the central nervous system.
