Biography of Thomas Porter McMurray
Thomas Porter McMurray was born in Belfast, but worked in Liverpool. He was renowned for his dexterity, for he could remove an entire meniscus in five minutes and disarticulate a hip in ten minutes! From 1924 to 1939 McMurray was lecturer at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Liverpool. He held a personal professorship there from 1939 to 1948.
