Biography of Erhard Glaser

Erhard Glaser studied medicine in Prague. He became a doctor of medicine in 1897 and obtained a Ph.D. in chemistry 1903. He worked at the department of internal medicine and the otological department at the Wiener Garnisonsspital 1897-1899, then until the outbreak of World War I he worked at the chemical laboratory of the military health committee. He was habilitated for hygiene in 1914 and in 1915 served as chief staff physician – Oberstabsarzt – in the war. In 1926 he became professor extraordinary of pharmacognosy. He published extensively on hygiene, chemistry, and pharmacognosy.
