Biography of Carl Mau

In 1934 Mau was appointed the first director of the University Orthopaedic Clinic at Hamburg-Eppendorf. In 1938 he turned down an invitation to Münster, and that year obtained a personal professorship at Hamburg-Eppendorf. During the spring of 1947 he was suspended by the British Military Government. In 1948 he was in charge of the rebuilding of the roentgen department of the clinic. Carl Mau died in a car accident in 1958.
