Biography of Emmet Rixford

Emmet Rixford graduated from the Boys High School, San Francisco, in 1883, and the Cooper Medical College, San Francisco, in 1891. He became adjoint professor there in 1893, in 1898 full professor. From 1909 he was professor of surgery at the Stanford University. Mt. Rixford (3.928 metres) in the Sierra Nevada is named for him.
