Biography of Gabriel Steiner

Gabriel Steiner attended the universities of Munich, Würzburg, Freiburg im Breisgau, and Strassburg. He obtained his doctorate at the latter in 1910, and was habilitated there for neurology and psychiatry in 1913. In 1920 he came to Heidelberg as ordentlicher professor, being also head of the pathological-anatomical laboratory at the psychiatric-neurological clinic.

With Philaletes Kuhn (1870-1937) Steiner discovered the Spirochaete argentinensis (Medizinische Klinik, 1917, 13: 1007).
