Biography of Bruno Kisch

Bruno Kisch studied medicine in Prague and received his doctorate there in 1913. He worked in Prague with Franz Bruno Hofmann (1869-1926), in Cologne with Heinrich Ewald Hering (1866-1948), and worked independently in Frankfurt am Main, and also for several times in Naples. Kisch was habilitated for general and pathological physiology at Cologne in 1918, becoming professor extraordinary in 1922. In 1925 assumed the chair for normal and pathological physiology.

Kisch concentrated his efforts in the field of physiological chemistry, circulation, and endocrinology.

Kisch established the journal Ergebnisse der Kreislaufforschung, later renamed Zeitschrift für Kreislaufforschung, published by Kisch and Eduard Stadler (born 1874); as well as the Verhandlungsberichte der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Kreislaufforschung (1927).
