Biography of Philipp Erlacher

Philipp Erlacher
Erlacher attended the universities of Graz, Jena, and Berlin, receiving his doctorate in 1910 in Graz. He then turned to orthopaedic surgery, working under Hans Spitzy (1872-1956) in Graz and Vienna, and Fritz Lange (1864-) in Munich. In 1919 he received the Venia legendi in Graz, becoming professor extraordinary in 1923. His work chiefly concerns the surgery of peripheral nerves, scoliosis, prostheses, and child surgery.
