Max Gänsslen
German internist, born March 24, 1895; died 1969.

A familial form of constitutional leukopenia.
Gänsslen's syndrome II
Syndrome characterized by a severe degree of metabolic bone change associated with familial haemolytic anaemia.
Minkowski-Chauffard disease
Congenital haemolytical anaemia presenting with spherocytosis, splenomegaly and varying degrees of anaemia and ikterus.
Biography:
Max Gänsslen studied in München, Leipzig, and Tübingen, receiving his doctorate at the latter university in 1919. He continued in postgraduate studies at the medical policlinic, of which he became head, later also of the medical clinic. He received the venia legendi for internal medicine, becoming extraordinarius in 1927. His work concerns the field of diseases of the blood and the blood vessels.
