Biography of Arnold Ludwig Gotthilf Heller
Arnold Ludwig Gotthilf Heller commenced his studies in Erlangen and Berlin. He continued in Leipzig, under Rudolf Virchow (1821-1902), Friedrich Albert von Zenker (1825-1898), Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Ludwig (1816-1895), and received his doctorate in 1866. He then went for an educational journey to Vienna and Prague in 1868, and in 1871 to England. He was habilitated in 1869 in Erlangen and from 1872 was professor ordinarius of general pathology and pathological anatomy in Kiel.
