A syndrome of abnormal development of the ulna, forearms, mammary glands, axillary apocrine glands, teeth, palate, vertebrae, and urogenital system.

Schinzel's syndrome I
A syndrome of mental retardation, peculiar facies, absence of the corpus callosum, and polydactyly.

Schinzel's syndrome II
A familiar syndrome of ulnar ray defects, hand abnormalities, microgentialism, delayed puberty, obesity, and anal atresia.

Schinzel-Giedion syndrome
A distinct dysmorphy syndrome of congenital hydronephrosis, skeletal dysplasia, and severe developmental retardation.

Biography:
Born in Vienna, Albert A. G. L. Schinzel came to Innsbruck in 1954 when his father was appointed professor of microbiology at the University of Innsbruck. Schinzel studied medicine at the Universities of Vienna, West Berlin and Innsbruck.
He qualified in 1968 and, following his internship, he became a research fellow in medical genetics in the department of paediatrics at the University of Zurich, where he was appointed full professor in 1986.
