Swiss orthopaedic surgeon, born June 25, 1913, Zurich.

A rare, inheritable bone disease characterized by deformities of the radius, ulna, tibia, and fibula.

Biography:
Kurt Nievergelt attended the universities of Zurich and Berlin. Following graduation in 1938 he held resident posts in pathology and bacteriology, and trained in orthopaedics and general surgery. From 1950 he had a consultant appointment at the Balgrist Clinic, Zurich, and later enteed private practice. Kurt Nievergelt retired in 1979.
