Biography of Leopoldi Fregoli

Leopoldo Fregoli was an Italian actor who was renowned for his remarkable skill in changing his facial appearance during his stage act.  He enjoyed enormous success at the Paris stage. Over 35 years ge gave more than 10 000 performances in Italy, Spain, Germany, Russia, France, England and New York. He also toured South America. In Frane he was simply “Frégoli, roi” Fregoli the king. He was a pionerr in music hall comedy, and is considered by many as the inventor of the one-man show.
