Biography:
With Dr. Ruth Sanger, Robert Race was director of the Blood Group Research Unit established by the Ministry of Health at the Lister Institute in London.
In 1944, Dr Race was joined in the laboratory by Dr Arthur E. Mourant and by a young veterinarian, Dr Robin R. A. Coombs.
