Parinaud-Koerber-Salus-Elschnig syndrome
This dorsal midbrain syndrome is a supranuclear palsy of vertical conjugate movement, most often upwards, caused by lesions of the aqueduct of Sylvius.
Biography:
Elsner obtained his doctorate at Königsberg in 1773, becoming professor of medicine in 1785. In 1774 he wrote treatises on the testing of drugs. His son was Johann Heinrich Elsner (1777-1834), professor of clinical medicine and director of the clinic at Königsberg.
