Biography:
Vithalrao Nagesh Shirodkar graduated from Grant Medical College, Bombay, in 1923. He specialized i obstetrics and gynaecology and obtained his doctorate in 1927. In 1931 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. From 1935 he was affiliated with the J.J. group of hospitals, where he had a distinguished career as a surgeon and teacher.
