Biography of Max Schüller

Max Schüller studied in Jena and Leipzig. He obtained his doctorate in 1869 and received surgical training with Karl Hueter (1838-1882) in Greifswald, where he was habilitated in 1876, becoming titular professor in 1880. He moved to Berlin in 1883 and there headed the surgical policlinic for the Verein für häusliche Gesundheitspflege [The Organization for Domestic Health Care].

In 1881 Schüller performed the first successful operation for non-descending testicle.
