Biography:
Ferenc Gallyas studied chemistry in Budapest and obtained his doctorate in biology at the University of Pecs. In 1975 he worked in research at the Max-Planck Institute for biophysical chemistry in Göttingen, and in 1982 stayed one year at the centre for morphology at that university. In 1988 he became a visiting professor at Yale University, New Haven, and that year was appointed professor of neuropathology at the Medical University of Pecs.
