Friedrich Christian Gregor Wernekinck

German anatomist and physician, born March 13, 1798, Münster; died March 23, 1835.

Biography:

Friedrich Christian Gregor Wernekinck attended the University of Münster from 1814 and continued his studies at Göttingen and Giessen, obtaining his medical doctorate from the latter university in 1820. He was prosector of the anatomical theatre at Giessen from 1821, became professor extraordinary of medicine in 1824, and in 1826 was appointed full professor of philosophy. His work concerns almost exclusively mineralogical topics.
