Swiss-born Israeli pathologist.
Name also spelled Getsowa.

Biography:
Sophia Getzova was chief pathologist at the Hadassah Hospital, Jerusalem. For four years she was the fiancé of Chaim Weizmann, the first president of Israel. In 1901 Weizmann left her for for Vera Khatzman. Sophia getzowa never married . She settled in Palestine in 1925, and in 1927 was appointed Professor of Pathological Anatomy at the Hebrew University.
