Biography of Célestin Sieur

Célestin Sieur was educated at Bordeaux. He became an externe in 1880, interne in 1881 and received his medical doctorate in 1883. From 1893 he was Chirurgien des Hôpitaux militaires. In 1897 he became an agrégé at the Val-de-Grâce in Paris, and was professor of surgery there from 1905. Sieur was also Médecin général inspecteur. He was a member of the Académie de médecine and sous-president de la Croix Rouge Internationale.
