Biography:
Heinrich Maria Wilhelm Reis spent his student time at Freiburg im Breisgau and Bonn, where he obtained his doctorate in 1895. From 1898 to 1910 he worked in the university eye clinic at Bonn, where he was habilitated for ophthalmology in 1904, becoming ausserordentlicher professor in 1909. His main field of interest was the pathological anatomy of the eye.
