Paul Rudolf Taenzer

German physician, born February 6, 1858, Leipzig;
died October 13, 1919.

A skin disease characterized by follicular red papules beginning in the eyebrows, spreading to neighbouring areas of the face and scalp, falling out of hair, and scarring.

An orcein solution used for staining elastic tissue.





Biography:
Paul Rudolf Taenzer attended the University of Leipzig, obtained his doctorate at Kiel in 1889, and for several years educated himself in dermatology in Hamburg as a pupil of Paul Gerson Unna. From 1890 until his death in 1919 he was a specialist – Facharzt – of dermatology in Bremen.
