Biography:
Adolphe Dupont received his medical diploma in 1925 and interned in the department of the dermatologist Aimé Morelle (1869–1926). He subseyently spent a year at the University of Strasbourg, and then spent time in Paris to educate himself in the histopathology of the skin. After this he practised as a specialist in Anvers and Namur. From 1944 to 1962 he served in the belgian army.
In 1951, aged 53, Dopont qualified as a teacher, agrége. His thesis concerned ”l'angio-réticulomatose cutanée de Kaposi.” In 1955 he succeeded Nestor Yernaux (1883-1958) in the chair of dermatology at the medical faculty of the University of Bruxelles, and remained in that position until he was emerited in 1968.
