Erich Leschke
German internist, born October 23, 1887, Beugneustadt, Rheinprovinz; died 1933.
Associated eponyms:
Leschke's syndrome
The combination of general weakness, numerous irregularly spread brown pigment spots (café-au-lait) of the skin; and hyperglycaemia.

Naegeli's syndrome
Syndrome characterized by reticular skin changes, dental anomalies, disturbance of temperature regulation due to diminished function of the sweat glands, hyperkeratosis palmaris and plantaris, nystagmus, strabismus, and optic atrophy.

Troisier-Hanot-Chauffard syndrome
Diabetes mellitus associated with hypertrophic cirrhosis of the liver and dark brownish skin pigmentation caused by deposition of excess of melanin or iron pigment, or both, in tissues.

Biography:
Erich Leschke attended the University of Bonn and received his doctorate in 1911. He worked at the physiological institute and at the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Stift in Bonn, at the Eppendorfer Krankenhaus in Hamburg and the II. medical clinic at the Berlin Charité. He was habilitated for internal medicine at the Charité in 1918, becoming extraordinary professor in 1919.
