Biography of Benedikt Adamandiades

Six years before Hulusi Behçet, Benedikt Adamandiades from Athens described very sick man who had recidiving iritis with hypopyon, ulceration of the mouth, genital ulcera and recidiving swellings of the knee joint. Adamandiades believed the disease to be caused by staphylococci, but this has never been confirmed.
