German neurologist, 1892-1937

Cheilitis glandularis. Syndrome characterised by a triad of symptoms comprising recurrent facial paralysis, chronic edema of the face and lips, and and hypertrophy and fissuring of the tongue (lingua plicata).

Biography:
Curt Rosenthal was active at the clinic of psychiatry and neurology at the University of Breslau. The designation Melkersson's syndrome was suggested to honour Melkersson, who had died so young, but the term Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome has now been generally accepted.
