Biography of Hermann Straub

Hermann Straub studied in Tübingen and Berlin. After obtaining his medical doctorate at Tübingen in 1909, he continued his education at the pharmacological institute in Freiburg im Breisgau and the physiological institutes in Cambridge and London. From 1910 to 1912 he was an assistant in the medical clinic in Tübingen, 1912-1919 assistant, respectively chief physician in the 1st medical clinic in Munich, where he was habilitated for internal medicine in 1914. In 1919 he moved to Halle as ausserordentlicher professor, becoming full professor in 1921. In 1922 he became professor and director of the medical policlinic in Greifswald, and in 1928 moved to the same tenure in Göttingen.
