Biography:
Karl Philipp Closs Closs graduated from the Gymnasium in Heilbronn, Germany, in 1922. He graduated in chemistry from the Univesity of Munich in 1926, and obtained a Ph. D. at that university in 1929. He graduated in medicine from the University of Oslo in 1942, was head of laboratories at the Aker sykehus in Oslo 1946-1954, and was professor of medicine at the University of Bergen 1954-1974; first in pharmacology, and from 1962 in clinical biochemistry.
