Giuseppe Mya
Italian paediatrician, born September 29, 1857, Torino;
died February 5, 1911, Florence.
Biography:
Giuseppe Mya received his doctorate in Torino in 1881 and then received further education under Camillo Bozzolo (1845-|920). In 1890 he came to Siena as extraordinary professor of propaedeutic and medical pathology, and in 1891 to Florence as ordinarius in the Istituto dei studi Superiori. In 1900 he became director of the Clinica pediatrica. He was highly reputed both as a pathologist and a clinician. In Italy Hirschprung’s disease is referred to as Mya’s disease.
