German pathologist, born April 26, 1859, Zurich;
died 1937.

Biography:
Paul Ernst studied in Zurich, Berlin, and Heidelberg, under Klebs, Koch, and Arnold. He was conferred doctor of medicine in 1884 and from 1885 to 1886 worked under the direction of Robert Koch in Berlin. In 1886 he became assistant to Julius Arnold in Heidelberg, in 1888 became Dozent (lecturer) of pathology, anatomy and bacteriology, and in 1893 was appointed ausserordentlicher professor.

Paul Ernst published on various themes of general pathological anatomy.
